What's Happening?

The Blue Valley Board of Education and the new Superintendent of schools have put forth a plan to both remove the requirements for music/arts and signifcantly reduce the number of hours for Speech/Drama, Music (Choir, Orchestra and Band), PE, Pre-engineering, FACS, World Language, Computers/Technology and Art in our middle schools. They have already removed the “wheel” in 6th grade where kids rotate between all of these in their first year, which limits students exposure to the arts. Now they are significantly reducing the hours for these electives for 6th through 8th grades to increase the hours for core programs. These changes are set to take effect in the 2018-2019 school year.

We need to let them know this is NOT okay.
